SONUS Sound Level Meter
Industrial and Environmental Logging Sound Level Meter
SONUS Pocket Sound Level Meter
  • Designed for ease of use with the power the cover the work you need, from Noise at Work measurements to Environmental monitoring.
  • Different models are split into 3 variations – Basic, Integrating and Logging – with an option for a Class 1 or Class 2 meter.
  • The Basic SONUS model, the GA116B or GA216B, gives simultaneous sound pressure level (Lp), max (Lmax) and peak (Cpeak) measurements for initial spot-check assessments for Noise at Work Regulations and is designed for engineers and industrial safety officers and anyone with a need for simple and accurate sound measurements.
  • The Integrating SONUS, GA116I or GA216I, adds further functions and measurement parameters including Lep'd and Dose enabling the sound meter to also double as a dosemeter. The meter is ideal for Industrial Safety Officers and Safety Managers and can be used for Health and Safety at Work Act; Noise Regulations 1989. The GA116I gives all the required information for Noise at Work risk assessments.
  • The GA116L and GA216L are full data logging instruments, capable of measuring Ln and Le parameters while also adding an Exposure Calculation to the dosemeter measurements. With an additional real-time clock and USB connection to the dBdataPro analysis software the data logging meters can store data and give you the results in a format to suit.
Industrial and Environmental Logging Sound Level Meter
  • These meters, Castle GA6224 (Class 1) and GA6226 (Class 2), are ideally equipped for carrying out Noise at Work Risk Assessments, as well as the majority of environmental survey work.
  • The range of parameters measured, the wide measuring capability of the meters and the ease of use, mean that this equipment is suitable for anything from aircraft noise to lawnmower design, and from construction sites to laboratories.
  • These noise meters provide the essential measurements required by the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2006, including Leq (equivalent continuous level) in ‘A’ and ‘C’ weightings, and Cpeak.
  • The meters can data-log any of these parameters in up to 10,000 data-memories, making it more than powerful enough for the task in hand.
  •  Ideally suited to environmental monitoring, these meters can measure 5 selectable percentile values and sound exposure (LE). Most environmental measurements require Leq and L90 plus possibly one or two other measurements. These can all be measured simultaneously and data-logged into its 10,000 data-point memory.
  • Many sound measuring tasks require the measurement of Leq (equivalent continuous level), Lmax (Maximum rms level), LE (Sound Exposure) or percentiles, and all of these can be completed using these meters with their accessories.
  • The Castle GA6224 (Class 1) Integrating Sound Level Meter and GA6226 (Class 2) have easy to follow menu systems and clearly marked keys, all designed to make the meter simple-to-use. The back-lit LCD display is also very clear with large figures and a quasi-analogue display bar to show the changes in sound level as they happen.
  • Equivalent continuous level (Leq)
  • 5 user selectable percentile values (Ln)
  • Wide Linearity range of 90dB
  • RS232 for data output to optional software
  • Memory storage for 10,000 datapoints

            • The Concept
Simplicity is the key to the flexibility that this software offers. Once the program is open, one mouse click is all it takes to start acquiring data from the instrument. Options are then presented to the user about how much data and which types of data to acquire thus giving control to the operator. There is also the option to 'group' data by various categories for the purpose of daily exposure calculations. Once the data is in the PC, displaying the information in either graphical or tabular form could not be simpler. The 'explorer' pane on the left of the window shows the structure of the data and simply clicking on a data item will display a graph in the right hand pane.

              Flexibility is Power
Getting the data to the screen of your PC is only the beginning and this is where the power of VIBdataPRO really starts to come into its own. Within the program itself there are a number of options for manipulating data, for example. The Multi-view system allows you to tailor the data-view to exactly what you want to see. You can merge data taken with different instruments or on different occasions. You can also print out a report, which has your own company logo and name on it. You can change the exposure time and re-calculate daily exposures for any combination of tasks and the action values can also be changed to apply any future changes in the legislation. What is more, all of this is available at the click of your mouse.

              Windows Integration
Possibly one of the most powerful features of this software is the fact that you can use the tables and graphs in any of your other Windows software packages such as word processors or spreadsheets. The process is once again incredibly simple, as all you have to do is click on 'copy', go into your other software, open a document and 'paste' the data straight in Modular Software. You can even have the option of pasting a table of data, an editable picture or a bitmap, so you can tailor your reports to the way you want them!

              Trend Analysis
If you are using the Excieo in it's single axis mode for monitoring machinery or bearings, then the trend analysis mode is designed to make this task simple and results meaningful. This display can also be used to compare environmental measurements taken in singe-axis mode over multiple measurements The picture (right) shows a relatively simple trend graph showing a comparison of four separate measurements taken at different times. This means that measurements can be compared no matter when they were taken, providing they are in the same measurement mode and can be compared. A trend analysis like this one can show the deterioration in a component, and will indicate that maintenance is required.

              Dose Calculator
For conducting Vibration at Work risk assessments, it can often be necessary to combine vibration exposure from various tasks carried out by an employee. This involves calculating the exposure Ai(8) for each task with one formula and then combining them with another formula. This can be time-consuming and there is potential for error. With the VIBdataPRO Calculator, it is a simple task to take readings from any number of measurements and put them into the table shown (right). This will then calculate the exposure A (8) for each task and will also give the combined daily exposure.
