What to specify when you order for a crew

Eye protection
Safety glasses and goggles are the part of a request that is easiest to forget. Glasses protect against impact and flying particles, and they are the ones worn all day. Goggles seal against the face, which is what dust or a chemical splash needs, and they also fit over prescription glasses. Say which of the two you need, and how many, and they go on the same quotation as the helmets.
Face protection
A face shield covers the whole face and is worn over glasses, not instead of them. It mounts on a bracket that clips to the helmet, so shield and helmet have to fit each other. Send the helmet model with the request and the bracket is quoted with it.
Helmets age, even without a cycle
Head protection is not on a calibration cycle, but it does age and it does take knocks. Replace a helmet after any real impact, even when the shell looks intact.
