What a test bench measures

What no bench does is judge the parts you can see. Perished rubber, a cracked visor, a frayed harness strap or a corroded backplate are found by hand and by eye before the set goes on the bench.

A serviced set with an overdue cylinder is not usable, and a freshly tested cylinder on an unserviced set is not either. Send them in together and both come back on the same visit.
How often breathing apparatus needs servicing
The interval comes from the maker of your apparatus, and it is written in the manual for your model. Most schedules combine three things: a check by the wearer before and after each use, a periodic inspection of the complete set, and a bench test at a longer interval. Sets used in firefighting or in confined space rescue are usually held to a stricter schedule than sets kept for emergencies, because every use loads the equipment.
Read your own manual, and read your client's contract next to it. Where they differ, the stricter one applies.

What does SCBA servicing include?
Servicing covers the breathing set itself: the full face mask, the demand valve, the hoses, carrier and gauge. TopBorneo examines the parts by hand first, then measures them on a test bench that works to EN standards. The cylinder is a separate job, done on a separate bench.
How often does breathing apparatus need to be serviced?
The interval comes from the manual for your make and model, together with your own procedure and your client's contract. There is no single figure that fits every set. Sets used in firefighting or rescue are normally held to a stricter schedule than sets that only sit in a cabinet.
Does TopBorneo test the cylinder as well?
